GWC Police Academy Graduation
GWC’s Police Academy celebrated the graduation ceremony for Class #149. The ceremony was held at the OCC Robert Moore Theater. Twenty-six graduates received their Basic Training Certificate and several have already secured jobs in Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Los Alamitos and Placentia. We commend the fine training officers and staff at GWC’s Criminal Justice Training Center for providing the tools and resources our students need to succeed. Congratulations to the graduates of Class #149!
Coastline Named #1 Community College
This is to recognize Coastline College for being named #1 community college by SmartAsset, a financial technology company that conducts data research in various areas. SmartAsset looked at nearly 700 public community colleges across the country in this study. Coastline was ranked first among the top ten community colleges based on cost of education, return on investment and success rate. Coastline graduates make one and three-quarters times their total education costs their first year working after graduating. SmartAsset recognized Coastline as the least-expensive school with top performance for local students. Well done, Coastline.
Orange Coast College Named Top Transfer College
It is a pleasure to report that Orange Coast College has been named the top school in Orange County for combined transfers to a UC and CSU. Data from the California Community College Chancellor’s Office indicated that OCC transferred nearly 1,350 students and 500 students into the CSU and UC system, respectively. This is an 8.2 percent increase for combined transfers for OCC. Let’s applaud Orange Coast College for this outstanding achievement.
